Terms and Conditions


Payments can be made by PayPal, all major Credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, Solo, and Maestro), bacs or cheque. If paying by cheque, your impression kit will be posted to you once this has cleared.

PayPal: For the protection of both parties, I will only send orders to confirmed addresses; otherwise we are not protected by the PayPal buyer/seller protection program.


I aim to dispatch fingerprint impression kits and inkless wipe kits within 48 hours of receipt of your order. Your finished items will be sent out to you usually within 28-35 days. This time may be exceeded at busy times like christmas, and mothers and fathers days.
If you are ordering for one of these occasions, please check the calendar on the homepage for details of the cut off dates to ensure you will receive your items for when you would like them.

If you require your order sooner then you can request one of our premium delivery services at an additional cost. Silver service (2 weeks) £20, Gold service (1 week) £30 or Express service (48 hours) £40.

For UK orders, all kits are sent out by Royal Mail First Class delivery and completed orders are always sent by Royal Mail Special Next Day Delivery. This is a tracked service with compensation insurance up to £500. Please allow up to 7 days for receipt of your impressions kit although this is generally sooner. Alternatively you are welcome to collect your items from the studio at YO62 6RT.

For International orders please allow 10 working days. Should your goods be mailed internationally, you will be responsible for any VAT or import duties that are valid for importation of goods into your country.

Delayed or lost packages

Please note that Make an Impression cannot be held responsible for any post or packages delayed or lost by Royal Mail. In the event of late or non-delivery of your items please contact me and I will contact Royal Mail in order to track your package and you will be advised as to the status of your package. In the event of a lost parcel, I can only offer a replacement or refund after Royal Mail has confirmed the package as lost, which is usually around three weeks.

Returns and Refunds

You have the right to cancel your order but please note that if your fingerprint or inkless wipe kit has already been sent there will be a £10.00 cancellation fee, and you may keep the print kit. If your impressions have been returned to me and your order is in process, regretfully you will be unable to cancel your order.

Please note that whilst I am sure that you wilI be delighted with your order I am unable to accept returns on Bespoke Personalised orders. An exception to this would be if I have not supplied the item you ordered so please make sure you have ordered correctly before contacting me. Make an Impression cannot be held responsible for customers not following instructions correctly when taking impressions, not checking orders or mis-spelling personalised orders.

In the unlikely event that I have made an error on your item, you must inform me of this and return the item within one week. I will make a new item for you free of charge. The returned item must be in unworn condition. If you have decided to wear an incorrect item then regretfully I am unable to replace the item for you.

What to Expect when you receive your items

Your item will be dispatched with care instructions and a polishing cloth. Please read the care instructions and keep them safe for future reference. Make an Impression cannot be held responsible for any damage or excessive wear caused to the items.

It is always advisable to remove your jewellery before manual, repetitive or physical activity. Please avoid wearing bracelets and charms when working at a desk, as this can cause wear to the pieces.

Your items will arrive with a highly polished finish. Please bear in mind that items which come into contact with other jewellery such as other charms on bracelets, or keys on keyrings will have a mattifying effect on the charms.

Please note Due to every item being crafted by hand, there may be slight 'imperfections' however these will not be at a detriment to the item and all add to the unique and handmade feel of the items. I would not sent an item out to a customer with an imperfection which is visible on the front.

Print Detail

Upon receipt of your completed impression kit, I will check the detail visible on the prints. If there is a lot of smudging on the inkless wipe kit, or the fingerprint detail is barely visible then I will contact you straight away to either arrange for another kit to be sent, or discuss other options. There is a charge for replacement kits of £5. Please bear in mind that children under the age of 6 months don't usually have very defined fingerprints, so my advice would be to select a hand or footprint impression kit for children under 6 months. If your baby / toddler is under this age and you would still prefer a fingerprint imprinted, then I cannot be held responsible if the item doesn’t have as much detail as you were expecting.
